Geocache #271

My weekend plans fell through, so decided that I really needed to get out of the house today and geocaching would be just the ticket!!
Decided to stay pretty close to home and headed towards Redwood Valley to find the few that I hadn't found there yet.

First one on the list called 'Where East Meets West - Bench marks the spot!!'.  Although it was not raining the sun was a little patchy and quite a few trees around.  The GPS was taking its time locking in, so spent a few minutes wandering from corner to corner till I decided that where I started was pretty close to where the cache had to be.

Didn't realize just how much traffic these back roads get until you don't want to be noticed -- thats when a cell phone comes in handy, you can make it look like your talking on your cell-- and of course you need to be out of the car to find good reception!!  LOL!!

Found it and brought it back to car to check it out.  Didn't realize that you could even get a container like this!!  A 'fake' trackable Benchmark!!!

Trackable BenchMark
Not a whole lot of room for tradables, but left a nickle -- didn't want to leave anything that the dampness would ruin -- yes it was a bit damp inside.  Replaced the log in a new plastic bag to keep it dry and headed on to next cache!!
